Technology startups are the most common thing nowadays, we hear all the time stuff from all these new companies that are born based on websites and applications. To introduce the topic of this post I would say that some of you are familiar with the documentary Print the Legend; however, for those who are not, I want to share with you that this is a must-see film for people who are deeply interested in technology startups.
It follows the race between some entrepreneurs who want to hit the top of the 3D printing technology revolution, trying to bring these printers from the industrial to the home environment just as personal computers did a few decades ago. You’ll see the good, the bad and the ugly of the stories involving the co-founders of Makerbot, Formlabs, 3D systems and Stratasys, how they reached the top and how they stepped aside at some point. Besides, what others thought about them, and how this amazing disrupting technology might be used for no good too.
In order to review this modern concept, 3D printing refers to processes used to synthesize an object of three dimensions thanks to computers that follow a model added to a software application to create successive layers of material. In simple words, it’s a kind of robot that builds an object by adding layers following a computer program.
Print the Legend became part of the Netflix arsenal in March 2014, but it still has a lot of things to teach to us.
