This curious experiment was made in 2014 in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. The goal set was to try to reduce the high accident rate for pedestrians when crossing the streets while the pedestrian crossing light was red.


Given that people are always bored waiting for the light to turn from red to green, they are in a hurry or they just think is safe enough to cross the street, a car brand company known as Smart teamed up with the advertising agency BBDO Germany and decided to try to add some fun to the waiting time when the red light sign was on. They invited a bunch of people to get inside a cabin and dance under the rhythm of music for partying, meanwhile, they projected the result on the crossing traffic light for pedestrians so others could see and enjoy it.

The Smart Company informed that the accident rate for pedestrians was reduced around 81% and that people of all ages were very eager to participate.
